How You Can Help

With your help, there is hope.

The Valley Children’s Advocacy Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All of our specialized and transformative services offered to our community are 100% FREE. In order for us to be able to provide these services to the children and families in need, we rely heavily on the donations of concerned community members like YOU.

You can help our children by making your gift today to the Valley Children’s Advocacy Center. Your gift will support the services Valley CAC provides to ensuring that all abused children in the Staunton, Augusta County, Waynesboro, Lexington, Rockbridge County, and Buena Vista have access to the caring and compassionate services that a CAC provides.

Thank you for your generosity. Your support makes a profound difference in the lives of abused children in our local community.

All donation, both monetary and in-kind, are tax deductible.

Employment/Intern/Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in supporting the Valley Children’s Advocacy Center. Our mission to prevent and respond to child sexual abuse, physical abuse, and neglect requires significant support and resources. However, with your help, there is hope. The Valley Children’s Advocacy Center offers many volunteer opportunities, as well as undergraduate and graduate internship placements for various majors and degrees. If you are interested please email Executive Director, Rebecca Simmons here (add Rebecca’s e mail address here). A background check is required.

Current Openings:
• Public Relations/ Development Intern
• Graphic Design Intern
• Volunteer for fundraising events
• Volunteer for janitorial services

Because we are a non-profit organization, we also rely heavily on fundraising events. Our signature fundraising events currently include our Spring Gala (held in April), a Golf Tournament (held in August), a community yard sale (held in late summer), and a Turkey Trot, which takes place on Thanksgiving morning.

We also enjoy other smaller fundraisers throughout the year in an effort to both raise needed funds and also spread awareness of the CAC. We are always open to additional fundraising ideas and activities, so if you have a great idea please do not hesitate to contact us.

3rd Party Fundraisers

Show your support for the Valley Children’s Advocacy Center by hosting your own event! Our children greatly benefit from the financial contributions of concerned community members like YOU, and now YOU can help raise awareness about child sexual abuse through your own fundraiser. These events can include, but are not limited to: birthday fundraisers, social media crowd funding campaigns, civic group and corporate fundraisers, or even private parties.

Valley CAC staff can help you with ideas, marketing material, and publicity on our website. If you are interested or have any other ideas, contact the CAC at 540.213.0592 or e-mail Charle Johnson.
